Kossuth Regional Health Center proudly offers Nutrition Services provided by Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist Allison Kruger. Allison Kruger, RDN, LD, CDCES provides Medical Nutrition Therapy and lifestyle coaching for patients with nutritional needs. Any patient with a medical diagnosis that can be improved through a change in diet can benefit from nutrition services. In partnership with the patient, Allison reviews eating habits and patterns, coaching the patient to engage in small changes that will lead to healthier lifestyle choices.
Allison is a Licensed Dietitian, with the state of Iowa. She is also a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist, assisting the diabetes educator with the Diabetes Education Program at KRHC.
Allison individually counsels and coaches patients with specific health concerns including but not limited to:
- General nutrition and wellness
- Weight management
- Diabetes
- Heart disease
- High cholesterol
- High triglycerides
- High blood pressure
- Gastrointestinal (GI) conditions
- Food Allergies and food sensitivities
- Other nutrition related concerns such as decrease in appetite, unintentional weight loss, and more.
Patients can either receive a referral from their provider or call and make an appointment directly.

Getting To Your Appointment
Park in the main hospital parking lot located at the front of the hospital and use the main hospital entrance. Registration staff will complete check-in process and provide directions to the dietitian’s office. To contact the dietitian directly, call 515.295.4670.
It is recommended that the patient check with his or her insurance company to see if the diagnosis and/or nutrition services is covered. Fortunately, Kossuth Regional Health Center has designated a self-pay option to cover diagnoses that insurance will not pay for.
