Add Years To Your Life & Life To Your Years
Caregivers at Kossuth Regional Health Center provide assistance to any person with physical or mental limitations to recover at home. The goal of home care is to promote recovery, independence and general well being of the patient.
Home care can add years to your life and life to your years at a minimal expense for the patient. Care provided in the home is typically less expensive than other forms of long-term or short-term care, including hospital care or nursing homes. There are a variety of funding sources available to cover this cost, such as Medicare (when skilled care is needed), Medicaid and some private insurances, as well as funding through our a local public health grant and Elderbridge funding. Referrals can be made by a friend, family member, or a physician.

We see patients after they have had a change in their health status requiring nursing assessment and care. This may include medication instruction and management, teaching the management of a new disease, wound care, IV therapy, and post surgical care.
All care is ordered by a physician with frequent communication and consultation regarding the patient’s progress or problems. KRHC Home Health is able to take referrals from doctors, hospitals, nursing facilities, and individuals. These services are provided by a variety of payers including Medicare, Medicaid, private insurances, and others. Some payers require that the patient be homebound in order for services to occur in the home setting.
