Memorial butterfly release & 5K set for May 29

Hospice of the Heartland will host its annual memorial service and butterfly release on Thursday, May 29 in the outdoor courtyard of Kossuth Regional Health Center at 5:00 p.m.

All are welcome to attend this memorial ceremony to honor and remember loved ones. At the conclusion of the memorial service, attendees will be able to release a butterfly in the KRHC courtyard in memory of a special loved one.

A tax-deductible gift of $15 will purchase a butterfly in memory or honor of a loved one who has passed. All proceeds will benefit hospice care and services. For those who wish to purchase a butterfly, you can find the form here or you may contact Community Health and Hospice at 515-295-4430.

The deadline to purchase a butterfly is May 20th, 2025.

This year Hospice of the Heartland is also celebrating their 35th Anniversary with a 5K Run & Walk immediately following the annual butterfly release. The 5K will start at 6PM at Tietz Park in Algona. Cost is $10 per participant, payable at the event. All proceeds will also support hospice care at KRHC. Participants are encouraged to sign-up early by registering here. T-shirts are available for purchase. Must purchase by May 4th to guarantee the shirt arrives in time for the event. All details including order forms can be found on the Hospice of the Heartland Facebook page and here.
