The KRHC Foundation’s annual Legacy Ball returns November 1st at the Columbia Events Center, featuring an Emerald Club theme that blends the whimsical charm of Emerald City with the elegance of a vintage speakeasy—reflected in both atmosphere and menu. This year marks the 23rd annual Legacy Ball with the KRHC Auxiliary chosen as the honorary Legacy Legends.
Since its founding in 1949 alongside the opening of St. Ann Hospital, the KRHC Auxiliary has been a cornerstone of community support and volunteerism in Kossuth County. For over seven decades, this dedicated group has tirelessly championed healthcare initiatives, raised funds for vital equipment and services, and provided comfort and care to patients and families. Their impact is woven into the very fabric of KRHC’s history—from organizing events and operating the hospital gift shop to supporting scholarships and enhancing patient experiences. The Auxiliary’s unwavering commitment has helped shape the quality and compassion of local healthcare, making them true Legacy Legends whose contributions continue to inspire and uplift our community.
“The Auxiliary represents the very heart of community-driven healthcare. For more than 75 years, their tireless volunteerism has uplifted our hospital and touched countless lives across the community. Honoring them as this year’s Legacy Legends is a celebration of their significant impact and a heartfelt thank-you for the legacy they’ve built—one of compassion, service, and unwavering support,” said Foundation Director Nancy Grandenett-Besch.
The Legacy Ball is an annual black tie optional event that raises funds to grow the KRHC Foundation’s endowment fund. Cocktails and appetizers will begin at 6 p.m. with dinner served at 7:30 p.m. A silent auction will be held throughout the evening featuring a select number of vacation getaways, gift baskets, treats and other items. Dancing will follow the meal at 9 p.m.
This year’s menu includes a creamy, lemon basil Caesar salad. For the main entrée, spiced tenderloin of beef served with roasted shallots, bacon and port garlic red jacket potatoes, and roasted asparagus. For dessert guests will enjoy a lime parfait layered with coulis, almond sponge, crème anglaise, and Chantilly cream.
Tickets for the Legacy Ball are $100 per person. You do not have to be a prior donor to attend, all are welcome. Guests are encouraged to reserve their seats early, as tables are limited. The RSVP deadline is October 15th.
